emergency media and public affairs (empa) conference

Emergency Media and Public Affairs (EMPA) runs an annual conference intended to share experience and knowledge amongst crisis communicators from both government and industry.

EMPA was formed in 2006 from a discussion between the University of Southern Queensland and the Queensland Department of Emergency Services about a way of developing emergency communication skills and sharing experiences in order to learn.

In 2009, the 100 delegate conference was held at the RACV City Club in Melbourne, and will be held at the Sydney Harbour Marriott in 2010. High Profile Events will be assisting the committee again in 2010.
