VENUE    

Lardner Park - one of Australia's Premier Regional Exhibition venues and home to events such as Farm World, The Civil Works Expo and Trucks In Action.

Located 1 hour’s drive east of Melbourne, in rolling hills outside the rural city of Warragul, Lardner Park has an extensive range of internal and external facilities, including the new $5 million Lardner Park Exhibition Centre.

ARC 14 will occupy 2 large pavilions, and a range of outdoor activities and demonstrations will be held in Lardner’s surrounding parklands.

Warragul is a major centre in the state of Victoria situated in the Shire of Baw Baw.  The shire population is approximately 42,000 people.  The city boasts a range of tourist and recreation activities, as well as many restaurants, clubs and music venues.  You will find much information at http://www.visitbawbaw.com.au/

LEARNING SYMPOSIUM

The highly regarded ARRO Learning Symposium will be held in the Exhibition Centre on Thursday 26th July.  The program will include presentations on vehicle technology, and a range of vehicle rescue techniques.

Team members’ registration for the Challenge includes free registration for the Learning Symposium.   All competing team members will attend the one-day Learning Symposium as a condition of their participation.

Other interested agency staff, volunteers and visitors are invited to register and attend all sessions.

CATERING

The following catering events are included in the Teams registration:

  • Opening drinks
  • Presentation dinner
  • Lunch and coffee breaks (Symposium-Thursday 26th July)

Meals and refreshments can be purchased at the Lardner Park kiosk throughout the remainder of the Challenge.

There is a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes in Warragul and Drouin.

OPENING DRINKS

The official Opening Drinks function will take place at the conclusion of the Learning Symposium program, 5.00PM Thursday 26th July.  Refreshments and light snacks will be served.  Attendance is included in the Teams registration fee.  Additional tickets may be purchased using the registration form.

PRESENTATION DINNER

Presentation of ARC 18 winners’ awards will take place at the Presentation Dinner on Sunday 29th July 2018 at 7.00PM in the Lardner Park Exhibition Centre.  Attendance is included in the Teams registration fee.  Additional tickets may be purchased using the registration form.

Free shuttle buses will run to and from all official accommodation venues between 6.30PM and 10.30PM.  Pre-booking of bus tickets is necessary.

Team Registration is for a team of 6 personnel.

  • Three (3) rescue challenges (Controlled, Entrapped and Time Critical)
  • Two (2) members in the trauma Challenge (2 pits)
  • Presentation Dinner: 6 tickets (Sunday 29th).

Pairs may be entered by organisations which are not competing in the ARC18 Challenge. (TC only).

Visitors and non-competitors may also attend the Learning Symposium.  You may register on-line, or download the Extras Registration form and fax it back to the secretariat.

Welcome drinks and Presentation Dinner:

Team members may book additional tickets for colleagues or partners.  Visitors and non-competitors may also attend these functions.  You may register on-line, or download the Extras Registration form and fax it back to the secretariat.

ACCOMMODATION

ARRO has block-booked all motels and holiday cabins in Warragul and Yarragon.

There are many room configurations available, from single beds to 4 beds per room.  You will need to discuss this with the venue when making your booking.

Accommodation is limited.  Once these venues are booked out, you may need to stay further from Lardner Park, eg. Packenham, Dandenong, Moe, Morwell.

TRANSPORT

Teams are required to make their own transport arrangements.  It is recommended that teams arriving from overseas or interstate arrange to hire a minibus for the duration of ARC18, and collect it upon arrival at Melbourne Airport.
